ABOUT US
Hi, my name is Alida. I am originally from Woodland Hills California and this is where I fell in love with horses.
My father a New Zealander, loved horses and horse racing having had two race horses himself in Germany. Growing up our family would often go to the races at Santa Anita and Hollywood Park in Los Angeles, which was exciting but also frustrating for me as I wanted to be the one riding the horse but not racing it! I would daydream about having my own horse, riding, feeding, grooming and just being with my own horse was all I could think about.
One day my daydreaming would turn into reality when I was introduced by my friend's horse riding trainer a beautiful, black, Quarter horse with a large white blaze who’s name was ‘Thunder'.
It was love at first sight and Thunder and I were a team. I learned how to ride this amazing but very head strong horse. Often a lot to handle as I was only 11! I had an excellent trainer and I then started competing in some horse shows which was exciting and challenging!
My next love came a slightly smaller handsome fellow a black and white Pinto named ‘Apache’. He was adorable, a cheeky one and I was happy to spend everyday after school and on the weekends getting to know him. It was with Apache I learned of Dressage and then began to practice and show my ’Sir Soccerball’.
Years passed and I met my boyfriend Craig who was a one day event rider around the central districts of the North Island. His passion for horses still runs high but his main priority is safety for riders. Craig distributes Vipa Body Protectors throughout New Zealand.
It was with Craig’s inspiration and my history and love of horses that I was able to find my new horse a beautiful rising 7 year old Bay Holsteiner Gelding by the name of Willow whom I adore. He is a sweetheart and we make a great team! With Craigs endless support, our passion of horses and the Equine industry I was able to follow my dream not only having a horse again but to set a plan to create something unique.

We also sell the VIPA Body Protectors for the Equestrian rider. May it be you are a Jockey, Showjumper, Dressage Rider, Eventer, Ponyclub rider, or anyone riding horses, Body Protectors are important and keeping safe is key!
Exciting times ahead as we are searching for more Equine products for the horse rider and the horse. We will be expanding with new designs and styles in clothing, tack accessories and more!
Our current range of Equestriana's casual equine apparel are named after favourite places of mine in California, also including some special favourites named after places in New York!
